Methodology and limitations

Version 1.0.0. Last reviewed 13 October 2026. This tracker is updated by editing the dataset and redeploying the website. It does not monitor government sites automatically, and it is not a complete code of UAE law.

How sources are selected

The order of preference is official legislation, federal ministries, emirate authorities, the Central Bank, ADX and DFM, official free-zone regulators, official foreign legislation, then professional commentary. Commentary can help find a development. It is not used as the basis for a threshold, a penalty or a filing day.

How records are verified

A published record needs an https source, a status, and a last-reviewed date. Dates are stored only when the source states them. If a duty is annual but no day is stated, the deadline has a label and no date. The interface then shows “No confirmed deadline identified”.

How legal status is determined

Status follows the official portal or rulebook where one was reviewed: active or in force, amended where the text records an amendment and the instrument still operates, or another listed status. “Amended” means still operative unless the record says repealed. No repealed instrument was published in version 1.0.0.

How amendments are handled

Known amendments are listed on the record. If only the existence of an amendment was verified, the record says the amending text was not separately reviewed. Article-level effects are not guessed.

How applicability is classified

The explorer uses written rules. A match explains the profile field that triggered it. Results are potentially relevant, likely relevant on the information supplied, further verification required, no trigger identified, or voluntary or market-driven. The tool does not say “not applicable” when the answers are too thin to exclude a rule. Company size is ignored on purpose.

How often content is reviewed

There is no fixed crawl. Records are reviewed when the library is edited. The changelog shows the date EcopsHub updated the record, which may differ from the date of the law.

Primary and secondary sources

Primary means the official text or the issuing body’s page for that instrument. Secondary means another official document mentioning it, or this methodology page for the editorial record on customer requests. Customer and lender questionnaires are not presented as a UAE statute.

Report an error

Use the contact page and include the record title, the sentence you think is wrong, and the official source. Do not send confidential notices unless you intend to.
